iq-bricks | interactive toy designed for social play
This was a two-semester long project to design a social toy.
The objective of the overall design was “to design a toy which harnesses and enhances the relationship between children and parents and/or siblings/peers.” The toy’s main function was to serve as a means to promote social interaction through play.
Through research, it had been concluded that children who develop well, who are secure and confi dent, are those who have strong social relationships with others, specifically their parents, siblings and peers. The resulting toy promotes social interaction through a construction/ puzzle toy which incorporates sensory learning, motor-skill development, pretend/ imagination play, and promotes team work.
